Why « Le Clos Amarante »?

A colour and a plant associated with Artemis, the deep purple amaranth means « the one that never fades ». A nod to Diane de Poitiers, an emblematic figure of the Loire Valley, who liked to be portrayed as Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt and Latin equivalent of the Greek goddess Artemis.

Staying at Le Clos Amarante means entering a place where history and mythology answer one another. Like the flower it is named after, this house never fades: it holds the memory of its stones and the story of the families who have lived here.
